When to contact us
Speak to us as soon as possible if you experience:
• A complete or unexplained loss of power
• A battery becoming unusually hot, swollen or unstable
• An electrical burning smell, smoke or signs of damaged wiring
• A charging system that has suddenly stopped working
• A repeated fuse, breaker or system shutdown
• A suspected gas or habitation safety issue
• A system failure immediately before an important journey
If you are unsure whether the problem is urgent, it is always better to ask.
What to do immediately
If you notice smoke, excessive heat, a burning smell, sparks or a suspected gas leak, stop using the affected system.
Switch off the system only if it is safe and you know how to do so. Do not remove covers, touch damaged wiring or attempt an unfamiliar repair.
Move away from the vehicle and contact the emergency services if there is an immediate risk of fire, explosion or injury.
How ASTT can help
When you call, we will ask a few questions about your vehicle, the equipment installed and what happened before the fault appeared.
Photographs, warning messages and information from your monitoring system can often help us identify the likely cause.
Depending on the problem, we may be able to:
• Guide you through safe basic checks
• Help isolate the affected equipment
• Diagnose a system remotely
• Arrange an urgent workshop inspection
• Repair or replace faulty equipment
• Advise whether the vehicle is safe to use
Remote advice is not always enough to confirm that a system is safe. Where necessary, we will ask you to stop using it until it has been inspected.
